Your privacy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
We're Clockwork Kitten, a small games studio in the UK. We collect as little about you as we can, and we never sell your information. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it, both on this website and in our game Meowky Way!
This website
- No tracking. This site has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Its fonts and pictures come from our own server, not from other companies.
- The contact form. When you send us a message we keep your name, email address, your message and its topic, and the name of your browser. We use them only to reply to you.
- Stopping spam. To stop anyone sending us lots of messages, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address (a one-way "hash"), never the address itself.
- How long we keep messages. Messages are deleted automatically two years after they arrive, or sooner if you ask.
- Server logs. Like every website, our web server keeps short-lived logs of requests (including IP addresses) to keep the site secure and working.
Meowky Way!
Your game and progress
Your progress, settings and the name you choose are saved on your phone and, so that your game is never lost, in your online account on our server. Meowky Way! needs an internet connection to play: it saves your game to the cloud before each level.
Your online account
When the game can reach our server, it makes you an online account by itself, with no email or password: the account is tied to a random key the game creates and keeps in your phone's secure storage (we keep only a scrambled "hash" of it). The account holds the name you chose in the game, a copy of your saved game (so it can be restored), your Prism balance and what you've earned and bought with it, your friend code and which friend's code you joined with, and when you last played. We use them to run the game's online features: cloud saves, the Hall of Fame, the shop and friend codes.
The Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame shows the name you chose in the game, your stars, the levels you've cleared and your prestige emblem to other players, and the top 50 also appear on this website's Hall of Fame page for anyone to see. Choose a name you're happy for other players to see. We may hide a name that's rude or that looks like someone's real full name.
Play statistics (you can turn them off)
To make the levels fair and fun, the game sends us how you play: when you play and for how long, the levels you start, win, lose or leave, how many moves and how much time were left, the stars you earned, the boosters and continues you used, the rewarded videos you watched and the packs you bought, with the game's version. It isn't used for advertising and isn't shared with anyone. We keep it for up to 400 days. You can turn it off at any time in the game's Settings (Share play statistics); turning it off also deletes the statistics we already hold for you. We rely on our legitimate interest in balancing and improving the game.
Google Play Games
When you play the version from Google Play, the game signs you in to Google Play Games automatically (as Play Games does in other games). Google tells the game your Play Games gamer name and player id. We use the gamer name as your name in the game unless you've chosen one, and keep the player id and gamer name with your online account, so your game can be restored on another phone. Google checks the sign-in with our server; we never see your Google password. You can sign out of Play Games in the Play Games app, and deleting your online account removes the link.
Linking Google (optional)
If you choose to use your Google account, Google tells the game your name, email address and profile picture. The game keeps them on your phone, to greet you by name. It also links your Google account to your online account, so you can get your progress back on another phone: for that our server keeps your Google account's id number and email address. You can unlink it at any time in Settings.
Adverts
Meowky Way! shows adverts from Google AdMob: an ad break every 10 levels (unless you buy Ad-Free) and short videos you can choose to watch for rewards. To show and measure adverts, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, your IP address and how you interact with the adverts. In the UK and EU the game asks for your consent before personalised adverts are shown, and you can change your choice later from the game's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Read more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Google Play. We never see your card or bank details. Google Play tells our server what you bought (the pack, its order number and whether it's a test), and the server checks it with Google before delivering it. We keep a record of each purchase, and of any refund, for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records (six years in the UK).
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, your phone schedules it itself. We don't send or store anything for it.
Bug reports and ideas
When you send a report with the game's 🐞 button, we receive what you write, the name you give (if any), a screenshot of the game (unless you switch it off) and details that help us find the problem: the game's version, your phone's model and system version, the screen and level you were on, your progress, your game settings, your friend code and the last few things that happened in the game. Before sending, the form lists what goes with your report. Reports are posted to the private channel our team and testers use on Discord, so Discord holds them too (see Discord's privacy policy). We keep only a one-way hash of your IP address, for a day, to limit how many reports can be sent. Ask us to delete a report at any time.
Posts to our Discord
When you tap POST TO DISCORD in the game's share window, the picture card you see is posted, for everyone on our public Discord server to see, with your player name (if you set one and choose to show it: the first post asks, and Settings › Discord changes it), your friend code, its message and link, and the game's version. Nothing is posted unless you tap the button. We keep only a one-way hash of your IP address, for a day, to limit how often posts can be made, and the post's id, so the same post isn't made twice. Discord holds the posts too (see Discord's privacy policy). Ask us, or a moderator on the server, to delete a post at any time.
Sharing and friend codes
When you share from the game, your phone's own share menu sends the picture, message and link to the app you choose; we don't see what you send or who you send it to. A shared picture and message show the name you chose in the game and your friend code, so only share them with people you're happy to show them to. Your friend code is a random code made by the game; it doesn't contain any information about you.
Our friend-code links go to this website (clockworkkitten.co.uk/MeowkyWay/Join/). The page reads the code from the link in your browser to show it; it isn't sent to us.
Deleting your account
You can delete your online account at any time in the game: Settings › Delete my online account. That deletes the account and everything we hold for it (your cloud save, Hall of Fame entry, Prism balance and history, friend code and play statistics). Records of purchases are kept for the law's financial records, no longer linked to you. If you no longer have the game, ask us with the contact form (topic "Delete my Meowky Way! account"), giving your friend code from the game if you can, and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Where your information is kept
Our website and game server run on Google Cloud, in Google's data centre in Iowa, USA. Google looks after it under its data processing terms, which include the safeguards UK law requires for information kept outside the UK. Only our team can see what's stored, through our private admin site, which needs a sign-in with an approved Google account.
